There’s no shortage of amazing people in the children’s book industry, and since Just One More Book!! is a mere two-and-a-quarter years-old, we’re still meeting people we’ve never heard of on a regular basis.
Werner (pron. Verner) Zimmermann is a children’s book author and illustrator, and a teacher of illustration and animation at Sheridan College. I happened upon a conversation he was a part of at a recent event of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) held in Canada’s National Library and Archives in Ottawa.
On this edition of Just One More Book!!, Werner Zimmermann talks about using illustration to portray what we see, the role of illustrations and the children’s book illustrations as art.
Werner’s books include:
- Snow Day!
- Listen Said the Donkey (with Jean Little)
- Farmer Joe’s Hot Day (with Nancy Wilcox Richards)
